Gulkarmat Reminds Residents about Potential Fires during Nataru Holidays

Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Agency takes preventive steps to anticipate fire during Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays.

Acting Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Agency Head, Satriadi Gunawan said continuous socialization and education for resident is important. It is aimed to increase resident's vigilance about fire incident.

Satriadi reminded residents to ensure that their homes are safe from the danger of fire before going to hometown or on vacation.

"Please make sure unused electrical equipment is unplugged from the wall and all electricity is turned off before leaving the house," he said, Friday (12/20).

He then advised residents to leave their house keys with neighbors or trusted people. Also leave their pets at a pet boarding facility.

"Firefighter personnel in Jakarta will standby 24 hours to ensure the security and readiness to face fire," he added.

According to him, the preventive steps are taken to give security and safety for residents during the holidays.

"Hopefully the residents will enjoy their holiday," he stated.
